Kira's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being.” - Hafiz

Welcome, I am so glad you are here! Let’s take a walk, reflect on what might be holding you back from your full potential, and embark on the therapeutic journey together. I aim to foster a safe space for you to come as you are, take off your protective armour and discover your beautiful, authentic self. It takes courage to reach out and ask for help, but the step to invest in your mental health is among the most important commitments you will ever make.

Practice Areas

You and I will work together to design a tailored approach that best honours your therapeutic needs and preferences as a unique human being. My passion lies in supporting clients, as they navigate and learn to respond to various life challenges. I can provide support for the following: executive functioning support, parenting support and family challenges, caregiver fatigue, relationship struggles and navigating divorce, self-esteem, burnout, anxiety, depression and coping with difficult life events. My clinical expertise and professional experiences lie in working with children, youth/young adults and families to help them to be able to access and embody their best selves. As an ally with the LGBTQ+ community, my practice operates from a gender-affirming and trauma-informed lens.

Education & Experience

I have over 20 years of experience working directly with children, families and caregivers within the early learning sector. I hold a diploma in Early Childhood education, a BA(Hons) specializing in Community Development, Forest and Nature Practitioner certification, as well as an MA in Counselling Psychology. I have a year of clinical experience, working directly with clients. Additionally, I identify as a lifelong learner who actively pursues professional development skills – this assists me in honing my skills as a clinician. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I practice under the supervision of Victoria Pacitti, RP, RSW and Joseanne Spiteri, RP.

Therapeutic Approach

My practice is eclectic, weaving together diverse therapeutic modalities, depending on specific client preferences, but is grounded in humanistic theories. I have witnessed and experienced the power of play in supporting the inner child (who lives in each of us); play therapy is often an element of my practice. I am also pleased to be piloting a walk-and-talk option for clients. The goal in our sessions is to work together as a team, with the knowledge that you are the best expert on the ‘self’ – you!

About Kira

So, who is Kira? I would describe myself as an adventurous, down-to-earth, free-spirited, goofy, nature-loving, “big child in an adult’s body” kind of soul! In my spare time, I love being active outdoors – and will be found, very often, with my dog, Maggie. I also enjoy exploring diverse kinds of foods with family and friends. I also LOVE to travel, exploring new environments, as well as connecting with individuals from different walks of life and cultures.
