Alex's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“What’s in the way is the way.” – Mary O’Malley

Taking a first step towards change can be a vulnerable process. My aim throughout this process is to create an environment where you feel comfortable expressing yourself authentically while feeling heard and understood. I prioritize meeting you where you are, making sure that the experience feels accessible and welcoming from the very beginning. Together, we will explore the challenges life has placed on your path, the goals you would like to achieve through therapy, and determine the best ways for you to move towards a more fulfilling life.

Practice Areas

I specialize in working with adult individuals (18+) facing a diverse range of life and mental health challenges. My primary focus areas include anxiety, depression, life transitions as well as grief and loss. Additionally, I assist clients struggling with self-esteem difficulties, sleep concerns, interpersonal relationship difficulties, and stress-related issues. With a background in working with students, I can also offer support for academic struggles and procrastination.

One of my main goals through the process of therapy is empowering clients to develop a toolbox to navigate their unique challenges. I am committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every client, regardless of identity or background, feels welcomed and understood. I prioritize treating clients as equals, as I believe collaboration is essential to the process.

Education & Experience

I received my B. Sc. in Psychology from McGill University, and received my M. Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I am currently registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). My experience includes working with clients of all walks of life, within the community as well as in higher education settings. I currently practice under the supervision of Sofie Charron, RP.

Therapeutic Approach

I primarily draw from the techniques of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, being that each person’s needs are unique, I am dedicated to tailoring my services to best suit your needs and personality. With this in mind, I incorporate techniques from other sources such as Compassion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, when it has the potential to be helpful for you and your situation. Central to my practice is the emphasis on your strengths, as I believe they are fundamental to our work together.

About Alex

Outside of the office, my favourite way to spend my time is with my friends and family. I also enjoy exploring different recipes and cuisines in the kitchen, watching motorsports, discovering new music, hiking, and playing badminton. Supporting my community is also important to me, and I do this by volunteering with various community organizations such as Big Brothers and Sisters.
