Alex's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“What’s in the way is the way.” – Mary O’Malley

Taking the first step toward change can feel vulnerable, but it’s also a powerful act of courage. My goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where you feel heard, understood, and supported in expressing yourself authentically. I prioritize meeting you where you are, ensuring therapy feels accessible and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you face, clarify your goals, and identify practical steps to build a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Practice Areas

I work with adults (18+) facing various challenges. I provide support to individuals who are experiencing anxiety, navigating major life transitions, processing grief and loss, building self-esteem, and experiencing relationship difficulties. Drawing from experience working with university students, I offer support with managing school and work stress, addressing sleep concerns, and overcoming procrastination.

One of my primary goals is to empower you with practical tools to confidently navigate your challenges—both now and in the future. I view therapy as a collaborative process, treating each client as an equal partner in their journey. Central to my approach is a focus on your strengths, which are the foundation for growth. I am committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where clients of all identities and backgrounds feel welcomed, respected, and understood.

Education & Experience

I hold a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University and an M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I practice under the supervision of Sofie Charron, RP. My experience includes working with clients of all walks of life, in both community and higher education settings.

Therapeutic Approach

I primarily draw from the techniques of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, my goal is to ensure therapy feels meaningful, effective, and aligned with you and your goals. Therefore, I incorporate techniques from other sources such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, to meet your specific needs. Central to my practice is the emphasis on your strengths, as I believe they are fundamental to our work together.

About Alex

Outside of the office, my favourite way to spend my time is with my friends and family. I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes and cuisines in the kitchen, watching motorsports and hockey, discovering new music, hiking, and playing badminton. Giving back to my community is also important to me, and I stay involved by volunteering with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters.
