Cary's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” ― Carl R. Rogers

Therapy is a unique journey for each person, one that can be powerful and transformative. Reaching out for help in itself is a remarkable demonstration of strength and resilience. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to empower and guide you along the way. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. I also prioritize building a genuine relationship with my clients, as I believe this to be essential for facilitating change.

Practice Areas

I have experience working with adolescents (16+) and young adults regarding issues related to depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship and attachment issues, identity exploration, and existential experiences. I help clients navigate school and work-related concerns, as well as topics related to immigrating to Canada or being first-generation Canadians. I’m also particularly passionate about working with women regarding women’s health issues, post-partum, relationship issues, and sexual concerns.

Education & Experience

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton University, and my Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I am licenced as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am currently working under the supervision of Anna Nyiri (RP, MA), and David Hesidence (RP, MSc.)

Therapeutic Approach

I tailor my approach to each client depending on their needs, preferences, and experiences in therapy. I draw primarily on humanistic philosophies and utilize interventions from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I approach therapy from a collaborative, person-centered perspective to embrace your unique identity, worldview, and lived experience.

I am honoured to learn about each person’s unique stories and challenges, and it’s a privilege to witness their profound growth and genuine transformation as part of my work.

About Cary

Outside of therapy, you can usually find me spending time with my dog, seeing friends, attending concerts, teaching dance classes, or reading. I’m also very passionate about my espresso machine, overly caffeinated is my preferred state of being.

Above all, I believe in the importance of self-care and I strive to fill my life with joy, laughter, and a touch of whimsy. I’m a strong believer that finding humour in our everyday can help us navigate life with a lighter heart.
