Jenaya's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“Nothing changes until it becomes what it is.” – Fritz Perls

Embarking on a therapeutic journey can be intimidating, whether it is your first time reaching out or you are reconnecting with support after some time. I hope that you first give yourself credit for prioritizing your well-being, healing, and growth. I’d be honoured to walk alongside you as you take this step. Together, we will aim to create an atmosphere that helps you look inward, even when this may be hard, to promote growth in awareness and authenticity.

Practice Areas

I work with a wide range of concerns because humans are complicated, and your current difficulties likely don’t fit into one domain. However, I see myself as a psychotherapist fitting well with times of transition or uncertainty, whether that be in interpersonal relationships, personal identities & values, work & education, family roles, or recalibrating after significant experiences. My previous work includes grief & loss; self-criticism & self-image; childhood experiences; vicarious trauma; chronic stress; difficult work & parenting roles; romantic & platonic relationships; anxiety; sexual orientation & gender identity; emotion regulation. As a member of the LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous communities, I also have particular interest in helping you explore your sexual/gender/relational identities and make sense of your space in the world.

Education & Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I completed my clinical internship at Brown Counselling & Therapy Services under the supervision of Elisabeth Beach, R.P. Currently, I practice under the supervision of Reesa Packard, Ph.D., R.P.

In addition to clinical supervision and professional development, I continuously invest in self-growth to better understand what it is like to engage in such difficult yet meaningful inner work.

Therapeutic Approach

My priority is to create an empathetic, validating therapeutic relationship that serves as a foundation to explore new perspectives. You are the expert of your experiences, and I focus on meeting you where you’re at, integrating clinical approaches to offer meaningful support. Approaches that resonate with me include narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and strengths-based approaches. Depending on your individual needs, we may work primarily from one approach, or combine multiple approaches and alter our direction as needed.

About Jenaya

I feel most rejuvenated when I’m dancing, playing music, or in nature – especially when I reach the top of a mountain in the rockies. I love dogs and am constantly trying to pet as many as possible, at the (sometimes) unfortunate expense of those around me.

Out of everything, though, I am grounded by the common humanity connecting us all. I feel incredibly thankful that I get to witness such raw depth and evolvement in others as part of my work.
