Lydia's Favourite Therapy Quote:

“Life takes on meaning in the minute-by-minute reality in which we experience ourselves achieving ordinary things.” Gary Kielhofner, DrPH, OTR, FAOTA

Thank you for visiting my page. As an occupational therapist and psychotherapist, I work with my clients to improve their daily function, mental health and well-being. In therapy, I use a client-centered, strengths-based approach to help my clients identify what gives them a sense of purpose and to restore their sense of fulfillment.

Practice Areas

I have clinical experience working with individuals with a variety of mental health-related concerns such as low mood, anxiety, burnout, psychosis, insomnia, trauma, addictions and cognitive difficulties. I have special interest and experience working with individuals with concussion, psychosis/ schizophrenia, ADHD and chronic illnesses.

My sessions address many topics including but not limited to self-care, realistic goal setting, acceptance, functional strategies, coping skills, managing emotions and thoughts, work/school accommodations, and life/role transitions.

I strive to understand how my clients’ “occupations”, or meaningful activities and life roles, are impacted in order to support their healing and recovery. I look at how the emotional, cognitive, behavioural, environmental and/or physical factors influence one’s mental health.

Education & Experience

I graduated from Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2017 and have post-graduate training in psychotherapy. I have worked in hospitals and community clinics serving clients with a wide range of mental health conditions. I am currently registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) to deliver competent, ethical and professional services to the public. Performance of the controlled act of psychotherapy is restricted to members of six regulatory colleges in Ontario, including COTO.

Therapeutic Approach

I offer a safe therapy space that is non-judgmental, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. I use the following evidence-based modalities in my practice: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

About Lydia

Outside of work, I value having quality time with my husband and our 8lb maltipoo. You’ll find us exploring new restaurants or cafes, playing on the piano, travelling or hiking on nature trails. Recently, I have been enjoying oil painting and pottery which keeps me grounded
