Rebecca's Favourite Therapy Quote:
“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are” - Anaïs Nin
Welcome! I recognize how hard it can be to reach out for help and commend you for having the courage to take this step. We all are in need of help at times, and I am here to support you as you strive to enhance your well-being and create meaningful change in your life.
Together, we will create a space where you feel safe to express yourself and begin your journey toward growth and healing.
Practice Areas
I welcome you within a wide variety of presenting issues. Together we will explore the issues you are facing and develop a plan to support you in achieving your goals – whether you are dealing with significant emotional distress, experiencing challenges in your relationships, or seeking to better understand yourself and your experiences.
I am particularly passionate about treating complex & childhood trauma, relationship issues & patterns, family dynamics, self-esteem & self-compassion, self-development & growth, and social justice. I also work with issues related to depression, anxiety, stress & burnout, emotional regulation, grief, establishing healthy boundaries, interpersonal skills, and existential experiences.
I am honoured to support you through the therapeutic process as you work to enhance your well-being and strive to understand, accept, and love yourself.
Education & Experience
Having always felt drawn to helping others, I became involved with crisis & trauma support within my community. I am passionate about self-development, and have been engaged in my own journey of self-growth for years. I bring these experiences with me to inform my practice at Ottawa Psychotherapy Center.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and currently practice under the supervision of Reesa Packard, Ph.D., RP.
Therapeutic Approach
I utilize an integrative approach tailored to your unique needs, drawing from a combination of evidence-based modalities including psychodynamic, humanistic, narrative, attachment-based, emotion-focused, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioural therapy.
I approach therapy from a collaborative, person-centered perspective to embrace and affirm with you your unique identity, worldview, and lived experience.
I am committed to fostering an environment that is safe, welcoming, and accepting so that you feel open to building trust.
About Rebecca
Outside of therapy, I find meaning in life through introspection, being in nature, and social connection. Hobbies that bring me joy include hiking, swimming, running, dancing, yoga, nature walks, and cooking/baking as a creative outlet.
I am passionate about self-development and challenge myself to learn and grow through reading, writing, self-reflection, and seeking out new experiences. Most of my free time is spent with my family, both biological and chosen.
