I approach therapy as a collaborative process, working with you to identify your unique needs and to develop a customised treatment plan tailored to your specific goals. I have experience working within various client contexts, including anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, anger, grief, trauma, LBGTQ+, relationship issues, life transitions, interpersonal skills, self-development, self-compassion, healthy boundaries, existential issues, and more. My goal is to help you gain insight into your challenges and help develop practical solutions to overcome them, while discovering deeper meaning and lasting change. I am deeply passionate about personal growth and self-discovery, and I am here to support you in your journey toward greater well-being and realizing your fullest potential.
Education & Experience
I have an M.A. in Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, Ottawa. I also have a B.A. Honours, Psychology, from Carleton University, and an Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Child and Youth Worker, from Algonquin College. I have previous experience at Saint Paul University’s Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Ottawa. My work is being effectuated under the clinical supervision of Reesa Packard, Ph.D., Registered Psychotherapist.
I endeavor to create a compassionate space for clients that is warm, supportive, and judgment free. I believe that fostering a strong therapeutic alliance is conducive to exploring experiences, building resilience, and creating positive change. During the therapeutic process, I draw upon a variety of integrative and evidence-based modalities, including humanistic/person centered, psychodynamic, existential, positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), self-compassion, narrative, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based therapies.
I have a zest for life, and I enjoy meeting new people and discovering new places through travel. I appreciate the old, but embrace the new in music, technology, and culture. I value mindfulness and meditation as a means of connecting with the self, and I have practiced mediation for over 30 years. I have also trained in partner dance for many years, which I find to be an inspiring teacher of relationship dynamics, trust, and mastery.
